Sorry, not to shamelessly bump up my bday thread, but I had a great experience at my party Friday night. I went to the Cinch, which is a blast on Fridays as the DJ (and my friend) plays 70's and 80's rock, punk, new wave, etc. Plus they have a trashy drag show at midnight.

Anyway, after the show, one of the drag queens, couldn't have been older than 22, came around to get email addresses for their mailing list. When he came to us, "The Chain" was playing (per my request). He started singing along and I noticed he was ad-libbing Stevie's part a la "Mirage" tour ("the light...the light...the light). I screamed (drunkenly), THAT'S MIRAGE STEVIE! He then proceeded to do the best rendition of Stevie, complete with gingerly walking backwards while banging a tambourine and some great spins.

I said "can you do SOTM", to which he did the whole "sister....brother...sister...brother" followed by speaking in tongues! AWESOME.

It inspired me, knowing that the legend of Stevie will carry on for generations and generations. And it was nice to have a great Stevie moment on my birthday.
