Say You Will with Christine
I wonder what Say You Will could have been like with Christine McVie on it. I went ahead and created a playlist. I used 6 songs of Stevie's that were from SYW, 6 song's of lindey's from SYW, and 6 of Christine song's from In The Meantime. I also made a "bonus limited edition version" like they did with SYW. I added the 2 studio tracks, and 2 live tracks. (from the LIB show)
Here is what I came up with! If anyone else has done something like this, please share your playlist! Feel free to use mine and take a listen. I've titled my CD Destiny Rules, instead of SYW. Destiny Rules Fleetwood Mac tracklisting: What's The World Coming To Friend Bleed To Love Her Running Through The Garden Bad Journey Thrown Down Calumny Say You Will Steal Your Heart Away Sweet Revenge Red Rover Peacekeeper Destiny Rules You Are Miranda Everybody Finds Out Northern Star Goodbye Baby -bonus version also has- Not Make Believe Friend (Acoustic) Eyes Of The World (from Live in Boston) Beautiful Child (from Live in Boston) So I'd love to see your playlist, and I hope you think mine's alright. I pretty much picked my personal favorites, and ones that I think would fit well on the album. I picked not to use any demos or bootleg live versions. |

Hey glad you like it so much! I've listened to it twice all together now and I really like the way it flows. Feel free to put it in a playlist or on a CD. Thanks a lot for your comment.

That is a really cool listing, and it does flow well. It would've been nice if Chris would've made it on the album.

It's ok...AND shows a lot of work put into it...but by adding Christine's tunes and dropping Lindsey's more quirky tunes, the "edges" are now gone and it sounds a bit blah. Case in point, the lack of "Murrow"....swapping it in and taking out "Miranda" would work. (I LIKE "Miranda", so that's not why I suggest that one in particular)
And, I really dislike "Running Through The Garden" to begin with so there's that. I think "Smile At You" would fit in that spot much better. And, I think "Peacekeeper" and "Destiny Rules" shouldn't be back-to-back...the guitar intros are just WAY, WAY, WAY too similar, sounds like the same song is starting over...those two should be separated by at LEAST three songs. (maybe flip-flop "Destiny Rules" with "Everybody Finds Out"...that works, IMO)

Too bad Christine retired from the group, her presence was very key to the whole chemistery. I'm always for more Lindsey songs, but Christine has written so many damn catchy songs that the album could have only been better with her involved.

Whenever I've done this, I've always used Christine's songs from Time if only because they have Mick and John on them. I took out most of the songs I felt sounded more like solo songs than Fleetwood Mac, and included one song that sounded like Fleetwood Mac that ended up on a solo album. Basically, I wanted a "classic" sounding pop Mac album.
What's the World Coming To Hollywood (Some Other Kind Of Town) Thrown Down Miranda Say You Will Peacekeeper Twisted I Do Down On Rodeo Smile at You Sooner Or Later Bleed to Love Her Nights In Estoril Steal Your Heart Away Destiny Rules All Over Again Say Goodbye Goodbye Baby

I've played this game before--and even on this forum. It's always fun. And I like your rules: six songs from each writer.
Here's my list: Friend Destiny Rules Murrow Illume Bad Journey Red Rover Say You Will Steal Your Hearty Away Miranda Liar Come Throw Down Smile at You Anything is Possible Everybody Finds Out Forgiveness Goodbye (lindsey's) Givin' it Back I know I'm leaving out wonderful stuff, but these fit together...somewhat Last edited by aleuzzi; 10-08-2008 at 09:11 AM.. |

Is it safe to say you meant Bad Journey? (Though, it mentions Key Biscayne, which is referenced on Bermuda Triangle, which was on the same album as Bad Loser.)

No actually I don't think I would with Christine - I have principles. Personally I blame Eddy Quintela.
Oh sorry did I misunderstand the title of this thread? Last edited by chriskisn; 10-08-2008 at 09:48 AM.. |

Haha! it is safe to make that assumption. Though Bad Loser is such a fine tune, too.
