Default Monte Montgomery was Infatuated with LB

From a Joplin Globe Interview by Scott Meeker with Montgomery:

Q. Who would you consider to be your biggest influences?

A. Well, they’ve changed over the years. Right at the start was my mom. She was a guitar player herself, and played folk music and that kind of stuff. I listened to a lot of Texas artists growing up — whoever my mom had on vinyl.

I became really infatuated with Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. He did some amazingly melodic guitar playing and all of this cool playing without a pick. From there, I was influenced by people like Mark Knopfler and Michael Hedges … I could go on and on. I kind of immersed myself in the best guitar players that I could find.

And this is from an Exclaim Interview with Miles Benjamin Anthony Robinson by Cam Lindsay:

Summer of Fear, your next album, was recorded with Kyp Malone (TV On the Radio). How would you say it differs from your first album?

The production is very different. There are not as many multi-tracked vocals, and very identifiable things on the first record. I wanted it to be clearer, and so the production is more on the high end. There is a distinct Lindsey Buckingham influence. I love Fleetwood Mac, but I think it's something that's continuing... I feel I'm moving in the direction of intelligent pop music. That's my favourite kind of music.

These are the sorts of points I enjoy seeing Fleetwood Mac praised for.
