Huh!? Fleetwood Mac has always been considered light Rock and mostly pop.
None of the FM (Buckingham Nicks) records are straight up rock and roll and I'd venture to guess if SYW went that route, it would have sold less. The most rock record of the BN era is hands down BTM (and that was obviously w/o Buckingham) Lindsey has always brought a mad pop scientist vibe to the FM equation, that evokes his love of Brian Wilson and other visionaries that made FM work as a solid hit machine in the studio all the way up till TITN. Even Stevie Nicks solo catalogue is more rock than FM's.
