Under The Skin - Double CD?

Amazon lists "Under The Skin" for $18.98 (no photo yet). Could this be a double CD or a CD/DVD disk? Price seems high for just a single CD. Let's hope!

there are some rumours out there about this being the first of 2 discs to be released.
acoustic first, then an electric cd.

but 18.98?
is that high?
seems normal for a non-sale item.

You don't want to know what I would pay for a new cd. $18.99 is more than fine for me, I'll take what I can get.

£14,99 at Amazon UK as an import. It might be that we won't get a European release at all, but let's wait.

I brought this up somewhere else, it seems a bit high for a single cd, but I am not sure how much new albums usually cost when they first get released in America.

The "list price" for a single CD can be $18 to $19, but usually stores will offer it below list:

List Price: $18.98
Our Price: $14.99

Plus, stores will usually offer a discount during the first week after release (but since Lindsey's CD will probably not be considered "high demand" I wouldn't hold my breath for one of those $8.99 or $9.99 price tags during the first week).

a Dual Disc consisting of a DVD on one side and the audio portion on the other side, So who knows...But $18.98 sounds about average for a retail price of a new release.

It will be interesting to see if LB follows his own path and releases a double CD like he wanted to on SYW.

to see what may have been used for SYW that was deleted when the album was reduced from the original idea of a 2 disc set to a single...That is if LB does release a double album on Oct.3rd (Planning to see a concert that October night in OKC-Health permitting that is!)

18.98 is the standard list price for a "Frontline" title for the majors- a Frontline title is anything that is new from a non-developing artist, or a major catalog release.

Wow! I guess I've never paid $18.98 for a CD so I'm not aware of it.

It's the MSRP, the wholesale cost before any deals is normally in the $12.00 range. For new releases, there's generally a 5% deal. Places like Tower will sell a new release at about $15.00, so they're making about $3 per CD. Best Buy or Target is making enough in coop advertising dollars (the money the record company spends to get the title on endcaps, listening stations, and in circulars) that they can charge at or below the wholesale price and just break even.
