Default My Lindsey iPod playlist

Ok, since I'm still a rookie at this iPod thing, I just got most of my Lindsey CDs loaded onto my iPod within the last couple of weeks...haven't gotten to the originally leaked GOS tunes yet...so here's my "first run through" of my "Best Of Lindsey Buckingham" playlist (more to come as I tweak it in the next few weeks):

Don't Look Down (with intro)
Trouble
Under The Skin
Bwana
Gift Of Screws
Loving Cup
Great Day
Wrong
Go Insane (original)
Bel Air Rain
Play In The Rain
You Do Or You Don't
Shadow Of The West
Wait For You
Countdown
The Right Place To Fade
Show You How
Love Runs Deeper
Try For The Sun
All My Sorrows
Down On Rodeo
This Nearly Was Mine/Say We'll Meet Again

Yay, that Bel Air Rain made the cut. Newbies standing strong with the veterans.

I said I don't usually play songs that appear on albums singly. And that's true. I prefer to hear the whole album. But I will admit that Miranda and Show You How get played more than the Say You Will and Under the Skin albums do.

I did something similar to this a few months ago. I included FM songs, though.

1. Monday Morning - Fleetwood Mac
2. I Must Go - Go Insane
3. What Makes You Think You're The One - Tusk
4. I Know I'm Not Wrong - Live at the Bass Performance Hall
5. Second Hand News - Rumours
6. Come - Say You Will
7. Tango In The Night - Tango In The Night
8. Red Rover - Say You Will
9. Under The Skin - Live at the Bass Performance Hall
10. Big Love - The Dance
11. Never Going Back Again - Rumours
12. Say Goodbye - Say You Will
13. Without a Leg To Stand On - Buckingham Nicks
14. Great Day - Gift of Screws
15. Tusk - The Dance
16. I'm So Afraid - The Dance
17. Frozen Love - Buckingham Nicks
18. Shut Us Down - Live at the Bass Performance Hall
19. Someone's Gotta Change Your Mind - Under The Skin

I'm a total newbie when it comes to his solo stuff so this was before I fell in love with "Countdown", "That's How We Do It In LA" and "Bwana". Maybe I'll make a new list for just his solo stuff now that I've listened to it all.

I just realized I don't have "Go Insane" from The Dance on here. Yep, I totally have to rework this list. ha. In true Lindsey fan fashion I'll make it a double album playlist.

If I hadn't won it as a 2nd place prize in a raffle, I still wouldn't have one...but, since I've gotten it, I don't like it....I LOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!!

(the ol' "how'd I ever live without it" thing, ya know? )

Given your expertise at tracklisting, I think you're going to have a lot of fun with that. Please continue sharing.

I'm also intrigued by the number of GOS (official) tracks on your list. Would you say the album has risen in your estimations since your initial reacion (which, I believe, you posted on 7wonders)?

--

As for my playlist, I used to frequently play one of all his solo/mac stuff released in the US as singles up until Show You How.

Does everybody agree that Lindsey SHOULD release a Singles disc? I mean... just to get a remastered studio version of Holiday Road, it's guaranteed some iTunes movement.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Yep! I swore them off for years. I finally nabbed one up in 2006 when I moved because I couldn't take my 700+ CD collection around with me

Hmmmm...I really wouldn't say so...I kind of inundated myself with it for a while and got kind of burnt out on it in short order (that, and I fell into an obsession pit of listening to only Allman Bros related stuff for a few months).

Half of those tunes from the official GOS on the list are leftovers from the originally leaked GOS...since I didn't have that disc with me when I loaded Lindsey's stuff onto the iPod, I used the officially released versions (which I assumed were a tad bit better sound quality than the leaked GOS tracks...I haven't taken the time to "A-B" them to compare side-by-side). I picked the three NEWEST tunes that jumped out at me initially from the album, and the three "classic" GOS tunes I already was WELL-familiar with. But, I can see where by one only looking at the list would get that GOS could be taken as my favorite....which really isn't the case. (OotC is, but it was tough to limit myself in choosing those album's songs to just the few that I included) Going back through the list, the "leaked" GOS songs (even though I included the "officially released" versions..either from the offical GOS or UTS) could also be concluded as being well up my fave albums of Lindsey's.

I don't know about Lindsey releasing a "Singles" disc per se, but I think a collection of all of his songs from soundtracks/aborted albums/various artist compilaton albums...songs I call "strays"...would probably fill a disc (or make a decent budget priced EP anyway), wouldn't they? (time to compile them together on one disc...and officially release a couple more of those Stones covers)

Holiday Road
Dancing Across The USA
(ACK! I can't think of the title of the song from the movie "With Honors")
Time Bomb Town
Shut Us Down (the longer "Elizabethtown" version)
Peacekeeper (the "all Lindsey" version)
Steal Your Heart Away (the Best Buy '97 Dance tour promo disc version)
Big Yellow Taxi
She Smiled Sweetly
Gotta Get Away
The Singer Not The Song
Deep Dense
