Default Different "Fleetwood Mac Live" album cover?

I noticed this in the back of the SYW tourbook. Was it ever released with this artwork?

I think there's a Peter Green-era album with that cover, I only know the 1980 live album with the b&w photo, weird.

That might have been a cheesy knock off bootleg or foreign release?

Anyhow, the cover for the actual LIVE release was very cheap and the type face and inserts were uninspired. It was like WB was trying to make up for the losses on TUSK by releasing the cheapest packaged double album ever.

However it is a LOT easier to get the albums out of LIVE than TUSK. TUSK is like folding a map!

I think you miss the point.

No, & thank heaven to that. Who on earth would want the bird of Rhiannon staring him back in the face?!

This a compilation of tracks from the Boston Tea Party tapes (Feb 1970) discog page here:

http://discog.fleetwoodmac.net/discog.php?pid=692

I'm actually looking for a good scan of the cover to this one (this pic was obviously taken by a camera with the flash on & the 1980 bit on the bottom was most likely added on by some bootlegger to whatever they were peddling) so if anyone has this comp and can provide a better jpg scan of it, please let me know.

John

I've always liked that cover... It makes you imagine you're there with a little buzz at the show... Love the inside artwork as well.... love the wrong liner notes too.. lol

Thanks, I guess we could use that one for now, but it'd be nice to get one without the speckles. I mean, some speckles are supposed to be there because of the end of the bird's feathers but it looks like there's some speckles on the spine part of the CD jewel case (on the left hand side) not to mention the bits that jut out over the cover on the right side of the clear part of the jewel case (don't mean to be picky but the cleaner the copy we can get the better so it's not so obvious we lifted it from somewhere else ).

So if anyone has any other scans of this cover please let us know.

John

Color me crazy.

ETA: Hell, the whole Stevie witch thing wasn't even new to Fleetwood Mac in 1975. Seriously, this is a compilation of their first two U.S. releases, released in 1971! FOUR YEARS BEFORE STEVIE!

That's exactly what it is! I have that CD/cover -- it's from one of many knock-offs from the band's blues era. The band nor its record company had nothing to do with the artwork. As is, some other knock-off entity appropriated the image for a Rumour's era release.

Pious Bird was issued in 1969.
