Default Discovering Music/Music Listening Sites

My favorite site for finding and listening to new music, lala.com, is shutting down at the end of this month. I'm wondering if any ledgies can recommend any other sites that are similar to lala, because it's a great way to listen to music before you buy it, and discover new music.

The best thing about lala is that you can listen to complete albums one time, for free, before you buy it. Does anyone know of any other websites that you can do this? Even if you can't buy it on their site, that's fine, I just like to be able to listen to the whole album before deciding if I want to buy it or not.

I like Last.fm a lot. It's a good way to find artists similar to ones you are already listening to, each artist has their own page and each SONG by an artist has its own page. The song pages often have a sample of the song or an embedded video of the full song. There are also "stations" where you can insert an artist or genre and it will play songs similar to them. I also like it because you can track your own listening from your iTunes/iPod as well. My profile is linked in my signature if you're curious.

Thank you. But is there any way to listen to an entire album straight through, or can you only listen to the songs that have the little play button next to them?

Grooveshark is my crack cocaine... if it ever shuts down I'll be in Betty Ford faster than you can say Stevie Nicks!

I still stream Pandora radio from time to time... you tell it your favorite song(s), and it streams similar songs it thinks you'll like. It's a great tool for discovering new music, and artists on independent labels. Then, if there's a song or artist you like, just search for them on Grooveshark, and you can hear their entire catalogue! It's my musical 8 Ball!

Thanks for the Grooveshark hint. I tried visiting it and it really lagged my computer. Stupid old computer. I might try again later, but don't have high hopes. Any other suggestions?

Spotify is a program that lets you stream most stuff but throws in an advert every five(ish) songs to pay for it. I've used it plenty of times to listen to albums before I order them or to listen to stuff I have already ordered while it's in the post.
