Default Wait And See

I recently downloaded The Complete Blue Horizon Sessions, and am head over hills in love with the song "Wait And See."

The composer credits are to Christine Perfect. Does anyone know any background on this song? It is amazingly haunting, and beautiful.

If you do not own this album, buy it now!!

I don't know anything about it, but I totally agree with your assessment! It is definitely my favorite song on the Christine Perfect album.

Christine has called all her self-penned songs from that first solo album "weedy." That is sometimes true, but in the case of a fine song like "No Road is the Right Road" she's wrong.

I've never been a big fan of "Wait and See" but my problems with it have more to do with production and performance than the actual merit of the song itself. It's one of her first attempts to move out of standard 12-bar blues ditties towards a more versatile pop songwriter. Had she sang and played "Wait and See" a couple of years later, she'd have nailed it, IMO...

I have always loved the song "Wait and See" and I have probably listened to it hundreds of times since I bought my first copy of the 'Christine Perfect Album' in the mid-1970s. I enjoy the Christine Perfect album for the same reasons Chris herself doesn't like it -- for its unpolished immediacy. Listening to that record is like sitting in the studio listening to the musicians record when they don't have enough studio time to polish all the rough edges out of the recordings.
