unusually long hands?
I have been studying the piano parts to "Why," "The Way I Feel" and "Believe Me" and am intrigued by how prominent a part the left hand plays in all of them. You can tell Christine's a leftie--and that she's a damn good rhythm player!
The right hand chords in "Why"--at least in the first three bars--also suggest she might have unusually long hands! |

How long's the stretch? With my right hand I can stretch from middle C up to an octave higher than the E after it.

That does nothing to dispel the rumors that "Big Love" was about Christine. It was originally titled "Big Glove."

It's only a broken octave chord (in D), but with an F# octave, which means it's a bit awkward, unless one's stretch is pretty good--or one uses the forefinger to cross over the thumb on the broken note, which is awkward. It's playable, but a tad odd (for her).
