Me too, please! I've had a couple of trades fall thru on this. I'd LOVE to see it.

I have this video. Unfortunately, I only have 1 VCR so I can't make a copy for anyone. The show is great, but the picture/sound quality is terrible. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone has a good quality copy of this show. The most interesting thing about the tape is that Chris plays drums on "Second Hand News".

Hey Kieran -
I think I supplied you with that crappy quality video! It's too bad it's such crap. I would love to have a great copy as well.

One day soon, perhaps. Great new copies have surfaced of the '83 US Festival & the '83 Landover, people say, after decades of crappy copies.

if ya include the 1978 Cal Jam 2 upgraded DVD (IMO Heart was the most rocking act on the bill that March day in '78...Blew both Aerosmith & Ted Nugent off the stage) to the 2 above mentioned shows, and I am sure we will see an upgraded '78 Largo show sooner than later (Instead of later than sooner!)

one of my other favorite "classic rock" bands is genesis. and i'm talking basically from the peter gabriel years to about the "wind and wuthering" and "trick of the tail" (one of my favorite albums from anyone/anytime....along with "lamb lies down on broadway") period (1976).

i've been craving to see some old gabriel footage from his genesis days. i've only seen a few seconds of "watcher of the skies" from a 1973 film and that's it. i've seen pics of his crazy stage get-ups from back then. it was so theatrical. anyway, there is a ton of commercially released dvds covering all of those eras. i can't believe how much stuff there is. there's like one entire package that has about 10 hours of filmed concert footage from 1972-1980. we're talking professionally filmed and on dvd. i'm gonna go broke!

so, what the hell do we have with fm? with the exception of some peter green era compilations and the video stuff from the 1980s, there is essentially nothing. where are the concerts from the 70s?

They toured so much and proved themselves as a live act. Where is all this great concert footage?

It's disappointing that we have to rely on bootleg copies of partially recorded shows.

My theory is that the members of the band (& by extension the people who work for them) don't think very highly of those concert years, so they haven't been interested in either releasing old footage themselves or allowing others to do so. When you read interviews with them these days, they all seem to have a certain amount of nostalgia for those days, but not necessarily for what Fleetwood Mac looked & sounded like in 1977 or 1980. It's a nostalgia for their youth & the state of their personal relationships with one another & their friends & families (which is undoubtedly why we've been getting a steady stream of relationship-centered documentaries, like "Behind the Music" for Stevie, Fleetwood & Lindsey, "Going Home," the making of SYW documentary, "Classic Albums" with its focus on the relationships, "Two Sticks & a Drum," etc. -- instead of extensive concert footage).

I think this lack of strong feeling for their musicianship decades ago -- or even for the historic standing of the band in those days -- combined with the members' obvious misunderstanding of the appeal of old footage for most fans all creates this weird situation. Currently, you have Stevie & Lindsey & Mick, who all want to talk solely about their current music & tour (although they enjoy talking about their 30-year-old selves in personal relationships). Their faces probably go blank with befuddlement if you mentioned something about the White Album tour to them. And John seems not to want to talk about his music or his band at all, or only in the most peripheral way.

exactly. it seems like they've always been self-conscious about their live sound later than the actual fact. Take the 1980 Live album for example with all of its vocal overdubs (most notably stevie rerecording about 95% of the original st.louis vocal on "sara"). They always seem to be repatching the original performance. Is it "live" or is it memorex??? So, yeah, i've never doubted their own opinion of their live performances. Lindsey has spoken about how much fuller and better the band is with extra musicians. So, it's not a shock that they're going to pan the older "emptier" live stuff. Personally, i don't like all the extra musicians and i'm ending it at that.

One of my theories is that they're still an active band today. Sales of dvds of older performances might take away from sales of current stuff. Maybe the reason that all this genesis stuff is out is because there is no more genesis (that i know of) and the hopes of a gabriel/collins genesis is pretty slim especially now that collins is losing his hearing.

So i guess maybe we just have to wait till fm stops making music and touring to get some of the classic stuff released.
