Default Jimmy Fallon-Holiday Road

Just saw Jimmy Fallon and his band cover Holiday Road. I don't think the show is a rerun. Those of you on the west coast might be able to catch it.
I am sure it will show up on cyberspace at some point. Was totally taken by surprise.

I heard Jimmy Fallon "sing" or whatever they do on the floats in the Macy's parade yesterday. I was sitting here doing something with the parade on in the background and in the middle of Jimmy Fallon singling a medley of holiday songs, he breaks out into Holiday Road. How unexpected!

It was really bizarre! I don't think Jimmy really "sings", moreso that he can and they probably wanted an excuse to get him on a float. It was cute, but kind of weird! He also was really bad at pretending he was singing live. Still fun to hear the song though!

The video is up at NBC.com. See for yourself. Not sure if this link works.

Yes, I recorded it off the TV but I did it for friends who missed the parade and really wanted to see the combo of Fallon, The Roots and LB so get over it.

1. "Jimmy's band" is also known as The Legendary (and Grammy award winning) Roots Crew aka The Roots. They're not just Jimmy's "show band" or anything like that. Questlove (the drummer) and Black Thought (Tariq, the guy singing with Jimmy) are legends. They're doing the Fallon show for a paycheck and just because they can get away with it. They still get out and tour and they're working on an album right now. I just HATE that they're reduced to just being Jimmy's show band. Like, Max Weinberg wasn't just a bum drummer waiting for Conan to find him. Seriously people. Sorry, that touches a nerve.

2. The entire medley is incredibly ridiculous and awesome. To follow up Holiday Road with Christmas in Hollis is just out of control.

3. FYI, Questlove tweeted a "yacht rock" playlist when they had Christopher Cross on the show a couple months ago and Trouble made his list. I'd like to think he's a closet Lindsey fan. He looked awfully happy singing along to Holiday Road here. heh.

J Fallon, The Roots and Rashida Jones sing all of "Holiday Road". I believe this is a web only clip. Levels of awesomeness: off the charts!!

I now realize this is the clip the OP was probably talking about.
