I'm sure it's available on Mayall's boxset "The Essential John Mayall"

My God! Just listened to this for the first time. Oh to have been able to see Greeny play in his prime. Just amazing.

Thanks Ms. Moose. It kind of clouds the "knife to the throat" guitar styles of Clapton, vs. Green's approach. This is also Peter's LP, before the "flipped magnet", and what a fat tone it had! Does anyone have a date on this performance? Peter maybe playing his LP with just his bridge pickup.

Default killer track

It just makes me wonder how much stuff John Mayall lost in the fire in Laurel Canyon

Did any of you read the posts on the youtube posting of that audio track? It makes me glad we are rerasonably civil here

by the way, shouldn't this be in the peter green section

PPS The only live tracks better of his playing of fast shuffles is the the stop messing around recordings At The College of distributive arts and in amsterdam

Hi Vinnie,
1) No, I don't think this should be in the Peter Green section. There should be a new section: Pre-Fleetwood Mac .
2) Stop Messing Round in Holland was not from Amsterdam, but Den Haag, same date.
3) I found another fast PG shuffle: Lazy Poker Blues from the Caroussel Ballroom. Check it out, real nice as well.

Default pre fleetwood mac

thanks Mr W

I am away from home and could not remember the other concert location, but that has never stopped me from opening my mouth.

yes I too like that version of Lazy Poker Blues.

Would this Pre FM space include Traffic?, Savoy Brown? Mayall and by default dare I say Cream?
would Hosts support such conversations?

PS: WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO SNOOT?
DID SOMETHING HAPPEN WHILE I WAS SLEEPING?

Happy NEW YEAR!

Oh yes, thinking about all the music that was lost in that fire makes one very sad. Mayall must have been traumatized for life .( Also I read somewhere that he lost a vast collection of pornographic litterature in the fire). No wonder he still plays the blues..

I have just heard the track again and this time noticed the posts. It is horribly sad reading. Sometimes these commentboxes on Youtube are used by people like a tip where they can throw all their carbage. Oh well....

Wouter suggested a Pre-Fleetwood Mac section. Maybe that is not such a bad idea. Since this track is not from PG's solo career.

I must listen to that Stop Messing Around track soon.

YES, Whatever happened to SNOOT? He sure made an impact while he posted her on The Ledge.

Mayall's tape of Hendrix sitting in with the band (featuring Mick Taylor) also went up in smoke.

A pre-Mac section would be much appreciated - Peter, Mick and especially John hade pretty interesting careers before the Mac.
