Some funny pictures of Peter 1998
Hi!
I have the February 1998 issue of the Swedish music magazine "FUZZ", and it features an interview with Peter Green. Peter was interviewed at the office of his manager at the time, Stuart Taylor. The writer says that it was more of a conversation than a straight interview. This was during the recording of the Robert Johnson Songbook album, so Peter talked about that sessions. He also spoke a bit about what made him quit playing in the early 70s, and mentions going from Vermont to New Orleans to meet a girl (with no address or phone number). Instead he meets a man who is asking him questions of such character as: “Do you know that the blues belongs to the black people?” Being high on mescaline, he considered this and came to the decision to quit play. (I know Peter has given several other reasons to the subject, but this is what he says in this interview.) Peter also says that his advice to young guitarists is not to care about playing as fast as possible, and don’t try to cover their mistakes with finger technique. Keep it simple! Anyway, the writer of the article said that Peter turned into the old star as soon as he came in front of the camera. Here are the photos: |

Hee!!
That last one cracks me up! I'll never forget when I smiled at him in London during the PGSG show....the smile I got back from him was so cool. I know it sounds stupid, but it was like a connection for a split second.
Wierd.

Great shots! Even if he's lost some of his guitar chops....pic #1 is a
ROCKSTAR! I think Pete hasn't ever cut his hair...may have lost some on the top, but those sides are still intact! I'm proud to say I have never listened to the Splinter Group! No need. Pete's done it all...30+ years ago, and better than anyone else. I'm just glad he looks great, happy and I love that sly dog look...at his age!!!
